Deck repairs and restoration, Central Coast
Most of the decks we're called to look at aren't finished — they're failing quietly underneath. We assess honestly, tell you what can be saved, and rebuild only what needs rebuilding.
A deck rarely fails at the surface first. Water sits in a joist hanger, a post gets buried in a garden bed, a bearer never got ventilation, and by the time the boards feel spongy the frame underneath has been going for years. We lift boards, probe the frame and give you a straight answer: patch, partial rebuild, or full demolition and replacement.
Where the subframe is sound, we replace damaged boards and re-fix the deck properly — new fixings, corrected gapping, treated packers and flashings where the deck meets the house. Where it isn't, we quote a full rebuild with new footings and a treated pine or hardwood subframe, so you're not paying twice.
We repair decks across the Central Coast, Lake Macquarie down to Swansea, and the Hornsby Shire. Coastal blocks near the water get the worst of it — salt air, driving rain and poor drainage under low decks are the three problems we see most.

Common questions
Can you repair my deck or does it need replacing?
- It depends on the subframe. If the joists, bearers and footings are sound, board replacement and re-fixing is usually the better value option. If the frame is rotten or undersized, a rebuild costs less over ten years than repeated repairs. We tell you which one you're looking at before quoting.
How much does deck repair cost on the Central Coast?
- Small board replacements and re-fixing are typically a one to two day job. Partial subframe rebuilds and full replacements are quoted per project after we've seen what's under the boards, because guessing that from a photo does nobody any favours.
Do you repair composite decks?
- Yes. Composite boards themselves rarely fail, but the timber subframe under them still can. We repair composite decks in Ekodeck, Infinity Decking and most common systems, matching boards where stock is still available.
