Composite entertaining deck, Warnervale

Wide grey Infinity composite entertaining deck in a Warnervale backyard with bamboo screening behind

The brief

What the site asked for

The backyard was a plain patch of lawn falling away from the house — usable as grass and nothing else. The owners wanted a genuine entertaining area they could put a table and lounge setting on, sitting level and square in a yard that wasn't either, and they didn't want a surface that needed sanding and oiling every year.

The build

How we built it

We set out and dug new footings across the yard to carry a level platform clear of the ground, then framed to hold that level right out to the far edge where the fall is greatest. Infinity composite boards were laid across the full footprint with a picture-framed perimeter, so every board end lands into a clean border rather than an exposed cut. Board runs were set square to the house so the deck reads as an extension of the building line, and the composite surface stays splinter-free and needs nothing more than a wash — no oiling, no annual maintenance.
